How to care for your clothes so they last longer

Clothes are an investment — and when we choose quality pieces, we want them to last as long as possible. So how do you care for your garments to keep their look, shape, and comfort? Here are a few key tips:

Washing clothes at a low temperature

1. 🧺 WASH AT LOW TEMPERATURES

Higher temperatures can remove dirt more effectively, but they can also damage fibers — especially elastane. To help your clothes keep their shape and color, wash them at the temperatures recommended on the care label.

Tip: For natural materials like merino wool, choose a gentle wool program or hand wash.

Suggested wash temperatures by garment type:
T-shirts (organic cotton): 30 °C
Sweatshirts & joggers: 30 °C
Linen garments: 40 °C
Boxers, trunks: 40 °C
Merino pieces: 40 °C (wool cycle)

2. 🔥 SKIP THE DRYER

While a tumble dryer is quick and convenient, it isn’t ideal for most garments. High heat can cause shrinkage, loss of shape, and fiber wear.

Recommendation: The gentlest option is air-drying — on a rack, out of direct sunlight, ideally in the shade. If you really need to use a dryer, select the most delicate, low-temperature program.

3. 🌿 ECO, FRAGRANCE-FREE SOFTENER

Fabric softener adds softness and scent, but overusing it can damage fibers. Fragrance residues can also leave a stale odor or affect the fabric’s appearance.

We recommend: Choose an eco, fragrance-free option and use it sparingly, especially with delicate fabrics.

4. IRON AT THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE

An overheated iron can scorch or ruin delicate fibers. We recommend ironing especially linen pieces and light colors, which tend to look sharper when pressed.

How to: Before ironing, make sure the temperature matches the specific fabric.
