7 Christmas gift ideas for tall people that really fit

The safest Christmas gift for a tall person is clothing with longer sleeves and extra length, or a gift where height doesn’t matter. Buying gifts for tall people is tricky: the sweater has short sleeves and the pyjamas stop above the ankles. Here are 7 ideas that will really fit them under the tree.

In short

For a tall man, go for an elongated merino sweater or pyjamas with longer sleeves and legs. A tall woman will love an elongated hoodie or an Oxford shirt. Socks, a leather wallet and a gift voucher when you don’t know the size are safe bets.

Why is a gift for a tall person so tricky?

Regular clothing is cut for an average body. When the person you’re buying for is around two metres tall, the sleeves end above the wrist and the T-shirt rides up out of the trousers. So choose things with an elongated cut, or gifts where length doesn’t matter.

What to give a tall man?

1. Elongated merino sweater. European merino wool keeps you warm without overheating. The sweater is knitted in the Czech Republic, has extra length in the body and sleeves and can go in the washing machine at 30 °C on a wool programme. Choose from men’s elongated sweaters.

2. Pyjamas that don’t stop above the ankles. Men’s elongated pyjamas made of micromodal are soft, breathable and made in the Czech Republic. Anyone whose ankles get cold at night will appreciate the longer sleeves and legs.

3. Leather wallet. The men’s TallGuys wallet is made of vegetable-tanned leather with a natural texture and has RFID protection. Height doesn’t matter here, so it’s a safe choice.

What to give a tall woman?

4. Elongated hoodie. The women’s hoodie made of GOTS-certified organic cotton has extra length in the body and sleeves, is brushed on the inside and made in the Czech Republic. You’ll find it among women’s hoodies.

5. Elongated Oxford shirt. The women’s shirt made of sturdy, breathable Oxford cotton has an elongated cut and is sewn by a Czech workshop specialising in shirts. It works for the office and the weekend. Choose from women’s Oxford shirts.

A gift everyone will love

6. High socks. A pack of three pairs from a Czech knitting mill with more than 60 years of tradition, with a seamless toe and a non-slip cuff. They stay up and don’t slide down.

7. Gift voucher. When you don’t know the size or length, a gift voucher is the safest choice. You can choose an electronic gift card or a printed voucher, and the recipient picks what they want.

How to find out the size without giving it away?

Check the label on their favourite T-shirt or hoodie, the one they wear most often, and find out their height. Sweaters and pyjamas are chosen by size only, the extra length is already built in. For hoodies, T-shirts and trousers you also choose the length by height. If you’re not sure, compare the measurements of clothes that fit them with the table in the size guide.

For whom Idea Why they’ll love it
For him Merino sweater Longer sleeves, warm without sweating
For him Pyjamas Legs reach the ankles
For him Leather wallet Height doesn’t matter
For her Hoodie Extra length in body and sleeves
For her Oxford shirt Elongated cut, Czech workshop
For everyone High socks Czech knitting mill, they stay up
For everyone Gift voucher They choose the size themselves

Tall men’s sweatpants: how to choose the length

With sweatpants for tall men, you choose two things separately: the size by your waist and the leg length by your height. We’ll show you how to do both.

In short

TallGuys men’s elongated sweatpants come in Classic for heights of 175–190 cm, Long for 185–200 cm and Extra Long for 200–215 cm. Choose your size by your waist. If you’re between two lengths, measure the inside leg of sweatpants that fit you and compare it with the table in the size guide.

Tall man in black elongated sweatpants and a black hoodie leaning against a kitchen counter

Why don’t regular sweatpants fit tall men?

Regular sweatpants have one length for each size. When you’re around two metres tall, the legs end above your ankle, and when you go for a bigger size, they’re loose at the waist. Men’s elongated sweatpants solve this differently: you choose the size and the length separately, so you get a comfortable waist and legs that reach down to your shoes.

Which sweatpants length to choose by height?

Start with your height. Each length covers a range of heights, and the ranges overlap on purpose so you can choose based on how long you like your trouser legs:

Length Your height
Classic 175–190 cm
Long 185–200 cm
Extra Long 200–215 cm

Source: variants of TallGuys men’s elongated sweatpants and the TallGuys size guide for men’s trousers and sweatpants, checked on 12 October 2026. Heights are a guide.

Are your legs longer than your height would suggest, or do you want the legs down to your shoes? Go for the longer option.

How to choose your sweatpants size by your waist?

The size (S to 4XL) sets the width at the waist, not the length. Lay a pair of sweatpants that fit you flat and measure straight across the waist. Compare the number with the Waist row in the size guide. If you’re between two sizes and like a looser fit, take the bigger one; the length stays the same.

How to measure the inside leg when you’re torn between two lengths?

Take sweatpants or trousers you feel good in and measure the inside leg from the crotch to the bottom hem. In the size guide you’ll find the length and inside leg for each size, separately for Classic, Long and Extra Long. Choose the length whose inside leg is closest to your number. Elongated sweatpants have cuffed legs, so a slightly longer option gathers nicely above your shoe.

What are TallGuys elongated sweatpants made of?

Organic cotton with GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. The cotton is brushed on the inside, so the sweatpants feel soft to the touch and keep you pleasantly warm on cooler days. We make them in Czechia. They’re great for home, the gym and travelling, and they go with elongated hoodies made of the same cotton.

Frequently asked questions

Which sweatpants should you choose if you’re around two metres tall?

If you’re around 200 cm tall, go for Long, or Extra Long if you have longer legs or want the legs down to your shoes. Choose your size by your waist, not by your height.

Is sweatpants size the same as length?

No. The size (S, M, L and up) sets the width at the waist. You choose the length (Classic, Long, Extra Long) separately by your height. That way you don’t have to buy a bigger size just to get longer legs.

What if I’m between two lengths?

Measure the inside leg of sweatpants that fit you and compare it with the table in the TallGuys size guide. If you like the legs down to your shoes or have longer legs, choose the longer of the two.

Can I exchange sweatpants for a different length?

Yes. You can exchange TallGuys clothing for a different length or size within 30 days, as long as the piece is unworn and has its tag. If you’re not sure beforehand, send us your height, weight and the product you’re looking at, and we’ll be happy to help.

Clothing for Tall Women: How to Choose the Right Length

If you are tall, choose size and length separately: size by your waist, hips or chest, length by your height.

In short

TallGuys elongated women’s trousers come in Classic for heights of 165–175 cm, Long for 170–180 cm and Extra Long for 180–190 cm. If you are between two lengths, measure the inside leg of trousers that fit you and compare it with the size guide.

How to choose trousers for tall women?

Start with your height, not your size. Regular trousers have one length per size, so a tall woman reaches for a bigger size and then they are loose at the waist. With elongated women’s trousers you choose the size by your waist and hips and the length by your height:

Length Your height
Classic 165–175 cm
Long 170–180 cm
Extra Long 180–190 cm

Source: TallGuys product pages for elongated women’s linen trousers, checked on 10 October 2026. Heights are a guide and the ranges overlap on purpose.

Do you like the legs down to your shoes, or do you have longer legs? Go for the longer option.

Linen trousers, Tencel or sweatpants?

It depends on where you want to wear them. Linen trousers are made from pre-washed linen, so they keep their size, and they get softer with every wash. Tencel trousers are fluid and soft, good for the city and for dinner. Elongated sweatpants made of brushed organic cotton are soft on the inside. You can choose the elongated everyday cut or the looser WIDE cut and match them with a sweatshirt made of the same cotton.

How long a T-shirt do you need when you are tall?

One that stays tucked in even when you raise your arms. Elongated women’s T-shirts have an elongated cut, so the hem stays in place when you stretch or ride a bike. Choose the size by your chest and shoulders, and if you are between two, take the bigger one. A crew neck works under a blazer, a V-neck looks more elegant and also suits a skirt. The T-shirts are made of GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified organic cotton with 5% elastane, so they keep their shape.

Elongated women’s crew neck T-shirt in khaki
Elongated women’s V-neck T-shirt in off-white

How to choose a bodysuit and a sweatshirt when you have a long torso?

Elongated women’s bodysuits have a longer torso and a two-row snap fastening, so you can fine-tune the length to fit you exactly. The longer your torso, the more likely you need the Long or Extra Long option. Elongated women’s sweatshirts follow the same size range as the T-shirts, and the sleeves stay at your wrists even when you raise your arms above your head.

Frequently asked questions

From what height is clothing for tall women worth it?

TallGuys elongated women’s trousers start with Classic for heights of around 165 cm and go up to Extra Long for 190 cm. What matters most is your experience: if regular trouser legs end above your ankle or T-shirts ride up out of your trousers, an elongated cut will help even if you are shorter.

Is size the same as length in elongated clothing?

No. Size (S, M, L and up) sets the width at the waist, hips, chest and shoulders. With TallGuys elongated clothing you choose the length (Classic, Long, Extra Long) separately by your height. That way you do not have to buy a bigger size just to get longer legs or sleeves.

What if I am between two trouser lengths?

Take trousers that fit you and measure the inside leg from the crotch to the hem. Compare the number with the table in the TallGuys size guide. If you prefer the legs down to your shoes or have longer legs, pick the longer of the two.

Can I exchange the length if it does not fit?

Yes. You can exchange TallGuys clothing for another length or size within 30 days, as long as the item is unworn and has its tag. If you are unsure before you order, send us your height, weight and the product you are looking at, and we will be happy to help you choose.

5 reasons to wear tall T-shirts

An elongated T-shirt won’t ride up your back or out of your trousers, suits a tall build and works for the office, for sport and for your free time. We’ve put together 5 reasons you’ll love it, plus advice on which length to choose.

In short

An elongated T-shirt covers your back and stomach even when you stretch, visually lengthens your figure and goes with jeans, chino trousers, sweatpants and even a blazer. For most T-shirts you choose the length by your height: Classic for 175–190 cm, Long for 185–200 cm and Extra Long for 200–215 cm. We make our short-sleeved T-shirts from organic cotton with GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificates.

Tired of the endless search for a T-shirt with the perfect cut? Stop searching, you’ve just found it. The TallGuys elongated T-shirt has several advantages that will win you over straight away. We’ve listed the most important ones below.

1. It covers everything it should

If you’re on the taller side, T-shirts in regular sizes can easily leave your back and stomach showing. And even though crop tops are in right now, not everyone wants to wear them. Elongated T-shirts come to the rescue, because they give you the coverage you need. No more worrying that you’ll accidentally show something you don’t want to. You’ll see how much more confident you feel in them.

2. It looks stylish

An elongated T-shirt isn’t just a practical addition to your wardrobe, it’s also a way to express your personal style. If you like a timeless look, simple plain T-shirts let you create an elegant, clean outfit that never goes out of fashion. But you’ll also find bolder options with a print that give your outfit an extra kick. And fans of collars or V-necks, which suit everyone, won’t miss out either. They’re just details, but in the end they make a big difference and make your outfit stand out.

3. It shows off your figure

Tall people stand out, command respect and often come across as attractive. So why not make that impression even stronger? Elongated T-shirts visually lengthen the body, which gives your figure elegance and a slimmer look. So you can be sure you’ll look not only modern but also confident and attractive.

4. What to wear with an elongated T-shirt?

Its simple, versatile look makes it a piece that works in many different combinations and layers. It suits casual outfits with jeans or elongated chino trousers, but also smarter trousers and a blazer for special occasions. You’ll appreciate an elongated T-shirt for working out and sport too, because it goes perfectly with sweatpants and shorts. It’s so versatile that you’ll never get bored of it.

5. Comfort above all

When making our elongated T-shirts, we insist on quality materials. The organic cotton we use is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilisers. T-shirts made from it are soft, pleasant to the touch and breathable. Thanks to GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificates, they are suitable even for very sensitive skin. It’s a comfortable choice that also takes the impact on the environment into account.

Which length of elongated T-shirt should you choose?

At TallGuys you choose your size by your chest and shoulders, and the length separately by your height. For most men’s T-shirts you can choose from three lengths:

Length Your height
Classic 175–190 cm
Long 185–200 cm
Extra Long 200–215 cm

Looking for a gift for a tall man? Here are 5 ideas

Not sure how to treat a tall boyfriend, dad or brother? Here are 5 gift ideas he’ll actually use: from a massage and an extra-long duvet to elongated clothing that finally fits him.

In short

A tall man will be happy with a gift that deals with his height: a massage voucher for an aching back, an elongated T-shirt or hoodie, a longer duvet, a bigger bath towel or a monitor stand. If you don’t know which clothing length to choose, go for a TallGuys gift card, which is valid for a year.

Is there a giant of a man in your life you’re looking for a gift for? Racking your brains over what to give him so that he likes it, actually uses it and you don’t embarrass yourself? Whether it’s your boyfriend, a friend, your dad or your brother, we have a few gift ideas your tall loved one is sure to appreciate.

1. A massage voucher

Ducking under low door frames and grab handles on public transport, hunching over the computer to see it properly while working. That’s everyday reality for tall people. No wonder their backs often hurt. A massage voucher is a great gift that will help ease the pain and let them relax a little. A massage chair or a massage set for home is also a good investment.

2. Clothes that finally fit him

Tall men often struggle to find the right sizes and cuts in ordinary clothes shops. Make things easier for your loved one and buy him a quality piece that fits him well. You can’t go wrong with an elongated T-shirt from TallGuys: it covers what it should, looks stylish and is made from soft organic cotton. Of course, you can also go for elongated hoodies or another piece for his wardrobe. But if you’re worried your choice won’t hit the right note, buy a gift card instead and let him pick whatever catches his eye.

Which clothing length to choose when you don’t know his height?

With TallGuys elongated clothing, you choose the length by height, not by size. Men’s T-shirts and trousers mostly come in Classic for 175–190 cm, Long for 185–200 cm and Extra Long for 200–215 cm. You can work out the size from clothes he already wears, and our guide how to choose the right size will help too. If you’re not sure about either, a gift card is the safest choice.

3. An extra-long duvet

Nothing beats a practical gift! Most ordinary duvets are too short for a man of above-average height, and sleeping with your feet sticking out isn’t exactly the most pleasant experience. Why not make his nights more comfortable with an extra-long duvet he can happily wrap himself up in and enjoy undisturbed sleep? And if you really want to splash out, buy him a longer bed.

4. Elongated towels

They come in just as handy as a longer duvet. Standard-size towels are often too small for tall men, who can’t dry themselves properly with them. The answer is a bigger bath towel, ideally made of terry cloth, which is absorbent and soft. Add a custom name patch and you’ve got a gift made just for him.

5. A monitor stand

If your loved one spends a lot of time at the computer, he quite possibly has to hunch over all the time to see it properly. That can lead to unpleasant neck and back pain. A monitor stand is made to make his life easier. With it, he can set his monitor or laptop at eye level, which helps him sit up straight. An office chair with adjustable height will also serve him well.

Height is no limit to personal style. On the contrary, it can be seen as a unique defining feature. And with a gift that has his height in mind, you’ll remind him of that. Because there’s no better fashion accessory than good self-confidence.

Which T-shirt length should I buy for a man who is 190 cm tall?

The most common clothing problems for tall people and how to solve them

Short sleeves, a T-shirt that rides up out of your trousers and too little space in your wardrobe. We’ll walk you through the four most common clothing problems tall people deal with and show you how to solve them.

In short

The biggest problem is length: choose clothes by your height, not by your size. TallGuys men’s T-shirts and trousers come in Classic for 175–190 cm, Long for 185–200 cm and Extra Long for 200–215 cm. Store long pieces in organisers or a taller wardrobe. Vertical lines make your figure look longer, horizontal ones make it look shorter, and bold pieces work best with simpler, neutral accessories.

Being tall has advantages in many ways, but when it comes to choosing the right clothes, it can turn into a nightmare. What obstacles do people of above-average height face when getting dressed, and how can they deal with them successfully? In this article, we’ll share a few useful tips with you.

Where to buy clothes that are long enough?

Let’s start with the biggest stumbling block: clothing measurements. Finding clothes that fit tall people perfectly is a real challenge. Luckily, there are now brands that make clothes specifically for the tallest among us. At TallGuys, for example, you can dress stylishly from head to toe. We make elongated T-shirts, hoodies, polo shirts, as well as shorts and sweatpants. All from organic cotton that is as soft as a cloud. You choose the length by your height:

Length Your height
Classic 175–190 cm
Long 185–200 cm
Extra Long 200–215 cm

Source: lengths of TallGuys men’s elongated T-shirts and trousers on our website, checked on 11 October 2026. The ranges overlap on purpose.

You then choose your size by your chest, shoulders and waist, and you’ll find more in the guide how to choose the right size. For tall women, we have a separate article Clothing for tall women: how to choose the right length.

Where to store long clothes when they don’t fit in the wardrobe?

Once we manage to find pieces that suit us, the next question comes up: where do we put them? Standard wardrobes and hangers often can’t hold a larger number of longer pieces without them getting creased or damaged. The answer can be roomier furniture or wardrobe organisers that let you arrange and store your clothes better. It’s also important to sort through your clothes regularly and get rid of pieces you don’t wear or that no longer make you happy, so you make room for new additions.

Which cuts suit tall men?

Choosing cuts carefully is the key to a comfortable, flattering outfit for every tall man. If you want to emphasise your height, go for elongated tops, clothes with vertical stripes or slim high-waisted trousers. If, on the other hand, you want your figure to look smaller, go for clothes with horizontal stripes, low-rise trousers, short jackets or blazers.

How to put an outfit together when you’re tall?

If you don’t pay enough attention to how the individual pieces go together, an outfit can look unnatural or mismatched. The key to success is finding cuts and lengths that work together. For example, an elongated T-shirt goes really well with slim high-waisted trousers, which creates a balanced look. It’s also important to think about colours and patterns. If you’re in the mood for clothes with bold prints or colours, try to keep the other pieces simpler and neutral. For the perfect look, don’t forget accessories such as a watch, a cap or a leather belt.

Height is no limit to your personal style. On the contrary, you can see it as your own unique defining feature. Believe in yourself and be proud of your one-of-a-kind build. Because there’s no better fashion accessory than good self-confidence.

Frequently asked questions

Why do regular T-shirts ride up out of my trousers?

Standard off-the-rack sizes are made for average height, so tall people are short of length in the torso and in the sleeves. An elongated T-shirt has a length based on your height and stays in your trousers even when you raise your arms.

Which trouser length should I choose if I’m 200 cm tall?

You’re on the border between Long (185–200 cm) and Extra Long (200–215 cm). If you have long legs or wear higher shoes, take Extra Long.

What if the length doesn’t fit?

You can exchange an unworn piece with its tag for a different length or size within 30 days.

Everyday problems of tall people and how to deal with them

Trousers above your ankles, bus handles right at forehead height and a mirror where all you see is your chin. We’ll walk you through five everyday problems of tall people and show you how to deal with them.

In short

Tall people most often struggle with short clothes, cramped seats on public transport, mirrors hung too low, the same old jokes, and low ceilings and door frames. With clothes, the solution is simple: choose by your height, not just your size. TallGuys elongated T-shirts come in Classic for 175–190 cm, Long for 185–200 cm and Extra Long for 200–215 cm. For the rest, a few tricks and above all a sense of humour will do.

Being tall comes with several advantages that shorter people can only dream of. Thanks to your above-average height, you command respect, draw attention and come across as attractive. But tall people also face a few annoying obstacles every day. Do you run into them too?

Why is it so hard for tall people to find clothes?

We probably all know it: for tall people, clothes shopping is a test of patience and mental resilience. Regular shops are designed for average height and offer only a limited choice of lengths. Trousers that end somewhere above your ankles and T-shirts that show what they shouldn’t are everywhere. But you don’t have to stress any more: TallGuys elongated T-shirts will have your back, literally, even if you’re over two metres tall. You choose the length by your height:

T-shirt length Your height
Classic 175–190 cm
Long 185–200 cm
Extra Long 200–215 cm

Source: TallGuys men’s elongated T-shirt product pages, checked on 12 October 2026. The ranges overlap on purpose.

Then pick your size using the measurements in our guide how to choose the right size. For tall women, we have a separate article, Clothing for tall women: how to choose the length.

How does a tall person fit into a bus, car or plane?

On public transport we often feel like Gandalf in a hobbit hole, not to mention on planes. The seats are inhumanly cramped and you have nowhere to put your legs… But the biggest danger comes from the handles, poles and overhead bins that are everywhere and that you keep accidentally bumping your head on. Cars don’t make things any better: there’s rarely room to spare, and you often have to duck just to get your head inside.

A few tricks help, though. When booking a flight, choose an aisle seat or one by the emergency exit, where there’s usually more legroom. On buses and trams, look up when you get on, not at your phone. And in the car, move the seat as low and as far back as it goes before you set off, so you don’t have to hunch.

Why do tall people only see their chin in the mirror?

We all like to check how we look from time to time. But in many places mirrors hang so low that we tall people can see our chin at most. Just to fix our hair, we have to hunch over like Quasimodo from the novel. And our spine doesn’t exactly thank us for it. At home, at least, you can help yourself: hang the mirror a bit higher or get a full-length one where you can see your hair too.

How to respond to jokes about your height?

Taller people are the target of the same remarks and odd questions every day, like a broken record. “How’s the weather up there?” or “You play basketball, right?” We’ve heard them so many times we’ve stopped counting. Not taking these jokes personally and being able to respond with grace, so people don’t think you’re a bore, is quite a challenge.

What works best is a bit of perspective. Have your own quick comeback ready and use it with a smile the third time that day someone asks you about the weather. And you don’t have to play basketball, even if people keep asking.

How to avoid hitting your head on low ceilings and door frames?

Tall people have to stay alert whenever they walk into or move around unfamiliar places, because just like on public transport, you risk a bump at best and a concussion at worst. And watching out absolutely everywhere isn’t easy. It helps to get into the habit of ducking your head before doorways, in the cellar or in the attic, and to hang lamps and lights at home so you can walk under them without any dodging manoeuvres.

Height has its pitfalls, but you can handle most of them with a few tricks and a smile. And everything goes better in clothes that finally fit you.

Frequently asked questions

Which T-shirt length should I choose if I’m over 2 metres tall?

Go for Extra Long, which is for heights of 200–215 cm. If you’re exactly 200 cm, you’re on the border between Long and Extra Long. If you want to be sure your T-shirt won’t ride up out of your trousers, take Extra Long.

Where can I buy clothes for tall people?

Look for brands that make elongated cuts and offer lengths by height. At TallGuys you’ll find elongated T-shirts, hoodies, shirts, trousers and sweatpants in Classic, Long and Extra Long, for tall men and women.

What if the length isn’t right for me?

You can exchange an unworn, unwashed piece with its tags for a different length or size within 30 days of receiving it.

Which plane seat should I choose if I’m tall?

There’s usually the most legroom by the emergency exit. An aisle seat at least lets you stretch one leg out into the aisle when the trolley isn’t coming through.

The obvious number one choice. The length of both sleeves and the T-shirt itself plays a key role in comfort and overall appearance — and that’s where the elongated T-shirt comes in. It not only ensures comfort but also visually elongates your silhouette. Most importantly, an elongated T-shirt gives you endless styling options — from pairing with jeans, chinos, or shorts, to layering with shirts, jackets, or coats.

Straight or Slim-Fit Pants

Tall men have the advantage of longer legs and torso. While this creates an impressive silhouette, sometimes you may want to make your proportions look more balanced. Choosing the right pants fit is essential — straight and slim cuts maintain harmony between the upper and lower body and never go out of style.

Longer Coat

Don’t have a trench coat, parka, or long overcoat in your wardrobe yet? It’s time to fix that. Since these coats reach below the hips, they help visually break up the body’s vertical line and create a balanced look. Longer cuts add elegance to any outfit — whether you’re heading out in a suit or keeping it casual. Even Sherlock Holmes would agree with that.

Collars and Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks out of fashion? Not at all. This timeless classic keeps making comebacks — and tall men with longer necks wear them especially well. Turtlenecks visually shorten the neck and balance the proportions of the upper body. Collars, on the other hand, highlight the neck and shoulder area — perfect if you’ve got the muscles to show off. A collared T-shirt or shirt adds confidence — ideal for work or formal occasions. And don’t be afraid to layer — in autumn or winter, add a sweater and you’ll see how well it complements the collar.

Low-Profile Footwear

We can’t forget about shoes. Choose low-profile footwear such as low sneakers, slip-ons, or loafers. These types of shoes don’t draw too much attention to the legs and won’t add extra height. Low-profile shoes are a comfortable and stylish choice for everyday wear.

Remember, this isn’t a strict rulebook. If you love experimenting with fashion — go for it. Your personal taste and comfort should always come first. So be creative, try new things, explore stylish pieces, and most importantly — have fun with it!
