Even though it isn’t as widely known as cotton or polyester, micromodal is rapidly gaining popularity thanks to its many advantages. Why is micromodal so beloved — and considered one of the most luxurious materials?
1. Unique properties
- Micromodal is often compared to cashmere or genuine silk. Its key qualities are softness, smoothness, and a plush feel, which quickly makes it a wardrobe favourite. With a touch of elastane, it’s ideal for everyday comfort.
- Despite its softness, micromodal is highly durable and resists mechanical stress — it lasts for years and resists pilling.
- Garments have a silky lustre and rich, saturated colours, thanks to the fibre’s naturally smooth surface.
- Among micromodal’s key advantages is breathability. Its microscopic structure delivers excellent airflow, it’s antibacterial, wicks sweat efficiently and dries quickly — perfect for underwear.
- Our micromodal is certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100, making it suitable even for very sensitive skin.
2. Sustainable production
Micromodal is an eco-friendly fibre made from renewable resources — specifically beech-wood cellulose. Its production typically uses less water and energy than many synthetics. Solvents and process water are reused at high rates, maximising recycling. Another plus: it’s biodegradable, so once a textile reaches the end of its life, the material can naturally break down.

3. Easy care
Micromodal is pleasantly simple to care for — another reason you’ll love wearing it. Despite its fine handfeel, it’s durable and resilient. It holds colour and shape well, so it won’t wash out or fade quickly.
- Wash at 30 °C, up to 40 °C max.
- Avoid tumble-drying; iron at a low setting, up to 150 °C.
- Do not bleach or dry-clean.
Exceptional softness, outstanding breathability and an eco-minded origin — paired with durability — make micromodal an ideal fabric for everyday joy. Will you try the feel for yourself?
