THE BASICS

5 key rules for caring for your clothes

  1. 01

    Wash at the right temperature

Lower temperatures protect modern stretch fibres and preserve natural colours.

  2. 02

    Wash clothes inside out

Colours stay rich and vibrant for longer.

  3. 03

    Use gentle detergents

Eco-friendly, mild detergents preserve the structure and look of the fabric.

  4. 04

    Iron with care

Always check the care label and set the right temperature before ironing.

  5. 05

    Use a rinse aid

It helps remove detergent residue and is gentler on the fibres.

STEP 01CHECK THE TEMPERATURE

Wash your clothes at a lower temperature

Higher temperatures remove dirt more effectively, but they can damage the fibres, especially elastane. To keep the shape and colour of your clothes, always stick to the recommended washing temperature.

Tip: For natural materials such as merino wool, use a gentle wool cycle or wash carefully by hand.

Recommended washing temperatures

STEP 02AIR DRYING

Skip the tumble dryer

A tumble dryer is convenient and quick, but it isn't ideal for most clothing. High temperatures can cause shrinking, loss of shape and premature wear of the fibres.

The gentlest way to dry

The gentlest option is to let your clothes dry naturally on a drying rack, out of the sun, ideally in a shaded, dry spot.

  • Low temperature
  • Air drying
  • Out of the sun

If you really need to use a tumble dryer, wash the garment 2–3 times at 30 °C first and choose a delicate cycle

STEP 03GENTLE DETERGENTS

Use gentle laundry gels

Choosing the right laundry gel matters too. Overly aggressive detergents or overdosing can gradually strain the fibres, affect their appearance and leave fragrance residue in your clothes.

Non-toxic approach

Choose non-toxic laundry gels, ideally without unnecessarily strong fragrance, and always follow the recommended dosage. For a more thorough removal of detergent residue, use a rinse aid as well. For more delicate materials, reach for a product made specifically for that type of fabric.

STEP 04IRONING

Iron at the right temperature

An iron that is too hot can scorch or damage delicate fibres. Careful ironing keeps linen clothing and lighter colours looking crisp and elegant.

Why do we make our clothes from organic cotton?

A large part of our clothing is made from organic cotton with GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which guarantees it is both eco-friendly and safe for your health. It is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, which protects the environment and at the same time gives a soft, breathable material that suits even sensitive skin. Thanks to its durability, softness and shape retention, our organic cotton clothing will last you a really long time.

What can merino wool do?

A natural wonder known above all for regulating temperature. It keeps you warm in winter and pleasantly cool in summer. It is naturally antibacterial and helps neutralise body odour. Its fibres are very fine and elastic, finer than a human hair. You’ll find sweaters, a roll neck, beanies and scarves in our merino clothing category.

What is TallGuys swimwear made from?

For our swimwear we use recycled micro polyamide blended with elastane. It is made mostly from plastic bottles. The material is kinder to nature and yet durable, dries quickly and doesn’t mind chlorine, sea salt or UV rays. Thanks to the minimalist design, you can wear our elongated men’s swimwear out of the water too: it works great as shorts for leisure or sport.

Does linen clothing shrink?

Linen is a natural material whose breathability has made it the ideal companion for summer. Ordinary linen tends to shrink in the wash. But our linen is pre-washed, so it won’t shrink and keeps its size. The longer you wear it, the nicer it feels. You’ll find shirts, trousers, shorts and dresses in our linen clothing category.

Why is micromodal good for underwear?

For us, this material is a synonym for luxurious softness. It is softer than cotton and has a silky sheen. Because it is breathable and wicks moisture well, it is ideal for underwear you wear all day. Micromodal is made from beech wood cellulose, and the fibre itself is biodegradable. We use it to make boxers, tank tops and pyjamas. You’ll find how to wash it and what else it can do in the article Micromodal: properties, benefits and how to wash it.

Our goal is for you to feel great in our clothes, not only because of their minimalist look, but also because of everything that goes into making them.

Linen has become more and more popular in recent years. The main reason is that it’s kind to nature, durable and comfortable all at once. What are the main properties of linen, and why choose clothing made from this natural fabric? We’ve put everything that matters together for you below.

Why wear linen clothing?

Linen is a natural material that combines several qualities you’ll appreciate most in summer. Here’s an overview of what TallGuys linen clothing gives you:

Property What it means for you
Durability strong fibre, the piece will last you many years
Breathability breathes and absorbs moisture, keeps you pleasantly cool in the heat
Pre-washed fabric won’t shrink and keeps its size even after washing
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate suitable even for very sensitive skin
Renewable resource no chemicals are used to process linen

Is linen a durable material?

Linen is known for its exceptional strength and durability. The linen fibre is strong, yet it gradually softens as you wear and wash it. For our clothing we use premium linen with added cotton, which creases less and keeps its shape even after washing. Linen clothing can stay with you for life, because it doesn’t change even after many years of wear.

Why does linen feel pleasant even in the heat?

One of linen’s most important qualities is its breathability. Linen breathes and absorbs moisture, so it’s great for hot summer days in the city, at work, by the water and when travelling. An elongated linen shirt also keeps you pleasantly cool in the heat.

Is linen suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. The linen we use has OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, so it suits even very sensitive skin. On the product pages you’ll also find it labelled hypoallergenic. Natural linen fibres are gentle on your body, so you’ll feel good in a linen shirt or trousers all day.

Is linen an eco-friendly material?

Linen comes from a renewable resource, and no chemicals are used to process it. And because it’s exceptionally durable, a linen piece will last you many years and you won’t need to replace it any time soon. In our view, that’s the best kind of sustainability: having clothes in your wardrobe that you enjoy wearing season after season.

Does linen clothing shrink?

Ordinary linen fabrics tend to shrink in the wash. But our linen is pre-washed: the fabric was washed before any clothing was made from it. That’s why it won’t shrink, keeps its size and feels soft from the very first wear. You can put it on straight out of the package, and it gets softer every time you wear it.

Where do we make TallGuys linen clothing?

We design and make our linen shirts, trousers, shorts and dresses in Czechia. We spent a long time looking for the right place to make our linen shirts, and in the end we found a Czech workshop specialising in shirts that meets what matters to us: sustainability, ethical production and top quality. You’ll find all our linen pieces in the linen clothing for tall people category, and separately in men’s linen clothing and women’s linen clothing.

Which linen trouser length to choose by height?

Elongated linen trousers come in three leg lengths. You choose the size by your waist and the length separately by your height:

Length Men’s linen trousers Women’s linen trousers
Classic 175–190 cm 165–175 cm
Long 185–200 cm 170–180 cm
Extra Long 200–215 cm 180–190 cm

Why is micromodal considered one of the most luxurious materials?

Even though it isn’t as widely known as cotton or polyester, micromodal is rapidly gaining popularity thanks to its many advantages. Why is micromodal so beloved — and considered one of the most luxurious materials?

1. Unique properties

  1. Micromodal is often compared to cashmere or genuine silk. Its key qualities are softness, smoothness, and a plush feel, which quickly makes it a wardrobe favourite. With a touch of elastane, it’s ideal for everyday comfort.
  2. Despite its softness, micromodal is highly durable and resists mechanical stress — it lasts for years and resists pilling.
  3. Garments have a silky lustre and rich, saturated colours, thanks to the fibre’s naturally smooth surface.
  4. Among micromodal’s key advantages is breathability. Its microscopic structure delivers excellent airflow, it’s antibacterial, wicks sweat efficiently and dries quickly — perfect for underwear.
  5. Our micromodal is certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100, making it suitable even for very sensitive skin.

2. Sustainable production

Micromodal is an eco-friendly fibre made from renewable resources — specifically beech-wood cellulose. Its production typically uses less water and energy than many synthetics. Solvents and process water are reused at high rates, maximising recycling. Another plus: it’s biodegradable, so once a textile reaches the end of its life, the material can naturally break down.

3. Easy care

Micromodal is pleasantly simple to care for — another reason you’ll love wearing it. Despite its fine handfeel, it’s durable and resilient. It holds colour and shape well, so it won’t wash out or fade quickly.

  • Wash at 30 °C, up to 40 °C max.
  • Tumble-drying on a low setting is fine; iron at a low setting, up to 150 °C.
  • Do not bleach or dry-clean.

Exceptional softness, outstanding breathability and an eco-minded origin — paired with durability — make micromodal an ideal fabric for everyday joy. Will you try the feel for yourself?

Organic cotton: why we make our tall T-shirts from it

Organic cotton is soft, breathable and grown without pesticides. We’ll explain what makes it special, what the GOTS and OEKO-TEX certificates mean and why we make our elongated T-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants from it.

In short

Organic cotton, also called bio cotton, is grown without pesticides, and its production is overseen by the international GOTS certification. Our cotton also has OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, so it suits even very sensitive skin. We use long-staple cotton with a small amount of elastane: it’s soft, doesn’t pill and keeps its colour and shape. We make our T-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants from it in Czechia. Wash them inside out at 30 °C and don’t put them in the dryer.

To make our products, we chose the path that puts as little strain on the environment as possible. That’s why we use organic cotton, also known as bio cotton. It’s soft, breathable and pleasant to the touch from morning till night. Come and see everything that goes into it.

What is organic cotton?

Organic cotton, also called bio cotton, is grown without pesticides, and its production is overseen by the international GOTS certification. On top of that, we choose long-staple cotton, which is incredibly soft, breathable and durable at the same time. The result is clothing that feels pleasant on your body and is kinder to nature.

Property What it means for you
Grown without pesticides kinder to nature
Long-staple cotton soft, breathable and durable at the same time
Doesn’t pill your T-shirt looks neat even after many washes
Keeps its colour and shape a fabric that isn’t see-through and that you can wear almost every day

Why do we make elongated T-shirts from organic cotton?

Because we want you to feel good in your T-shirt all day and for it to last. Organic cotton is soft, breathable and pleasant, so when you wear a T-shirt under a hoodie, you won’t even notice it. The fabric doesn’t pill, keeps its colour and shape, and the long fibres make it durable. On top of that, we add what tall people need most: an elongated cut. For most of our elongated T-shirts, you choose from three lengths, Classic, Long and Extra Long, and two fits, Slim and Regular. Thanks to the minimalist look, it’s easy to combine with anything.

What do the GOTS and OEKO-TEX certificates mean?

For cotton to be labelled organic, it has to meet strict criteria. Our organic cotton has two certifications:

Certificate What it confirms
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) an international standard for the eco-friendly production of textiles from organic fibres, a guarantee of pure organic cotton produced under ethical and ecological conditions
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 the fabric is suitable even for very sensitive skin

Only natural resources and environmentally safe processes are used to produce the cotton, and the people on the farms work in decent conditions. Thanks to both certifications, you can be sure about what you wear right next to your skin.

Why is there elastane in the cotton?

To help our T-shirts keep their shape and length, we add a small amount of elastane to the organic cotton. It makes the fabric stretchy and comfortable, whether you’re sitting in the office or on the road, and the T-shirt keeps its shape even after washing.

What do we make from organic cotton?

From organic cotton we make elongated T-shirts with short and long sleeves, tank tops, hoodies (crew neck, hooded and zip), sweatpants and sweat shorts. For women, you’ll find long T-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants.

Piece Why you’ll like it
T-shirts lighter fabric for summer and for layering under a shirt
Hoodies heavier fabric, the brushed inside keeps you warm
Sweatpants heavier fabric, brushed inside and a comfortable elastic waist

You’ll find the whole range in the organic cotton clothing for tall people category, and separately in men’s hoodies and men’s sweatpants.

Where is our organic cotton clothing made?

We make our organic cotton T-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants in Czechia under fair conditions. We spent long months fine-tuning every detail together with Czech seamstresses who share our values of ethical production and quality. That’s why you’ll find them labelled Made in Czechia on the product pages. Just for completeness: the chino trousers in our range are made in a Portuguese workshop that has specialised in trousers for generations. You can read more about how our clothing is made in the article How TallGuys clothing is made.
