THE BASICS

5 key rules for caring for your clothes

  1. 01

    Wash at the right temperature

Lower temperatures protect modern stretch fibres and preserve natural colours.

  2. 02

    Wash clothes inside out

Colours stay rich and vibrant for longer.

  3. 03

    Use gentle detergents

Eco-friendly, mild detergents preserve the structure and look of the fabric.

  4. 04

    Iron with care

Always check the care label and set the right temperature before ironing.

  5. 05

    Use a rinse aid

It helps remove detergent residue and is gentler on the fibres.

STEP 01CHECK THE TEMPERATURE

Wash your clothes at a lower temperature

Higher temperatures remove dirt more effectively, but they can damage the fibres, especially elastane. To keep the shape and colour of your clothes, always stick to the recommended washing temperature.

Tip: For natural materials such as merino wool, use a gentle wool cycle or wash carefully by hand.

STEP 02AIR DRYING

Skip the tumble dryer

A tumble dryer is convenient and quick, but it isn't ideal for most clothing. High temperatures can cause shrinking, loss of shape and premature wear of the fibres.

The gentlest way to dry

The gentlest option is to let your clothes dry naturally on a drying rack, out of the sun, ideally in a shaded, dry spot.

  • Low temperature
  • Air drying
  • Out of the sun

If you really need to use a tumble dryer, wash the garment 2–3 times at 30 °C first and choose a delicate cycle

STEP 03GENTLE DETERGENTS

Use gentle laundry gels

Choosing the right laundry gel matters too. Overly aggressive detergents or overdosing can gradually strain the fibres, affect their appearance and leave fragrance residue in your clothes.

Non-toxic approach

Choose non-toxic laundry gels, ideally without unnecessarily strong fragrance, and always follow the recommended dosage. For a more thorough removal of detergent residue, use a rinse aid as well. For more delicate materials, reach for a product made specifically for that type of fabric.

STEP 04IRONING

Iron at the right temperature

An iron that is too hot can scorch or damage delicate fibres. Careful ironing keeps linen clothing and lighter colours looking crisp and elegant.
